British medical troops were performing the same tasks as medical troops of other states. They too carried the wounded soldiers away from combat and treated their wounds. Many lives were saved thanks to their efforts.
The maiden flight of the first Pe-8 prototype was in December 1936. With a wingspan of 39 m and length of 23 m the giant aircraft had a speed of up to 405 km/h. The "Shilka" is a Soviet/Russian self propelled anti aircraft system armed with a radar guided quad 23mm gun. Serial production started in 1965 and it was used in several conflicts such as Afghanistan, Gulf War and many others. It is still in service in many countries worldwide.
